Our passion is birdwatching. Harvey takes most of the photographs while I sketch and observe the bird's behavior. I have completed many paintings of birds over the years in different media, but these watercolors are my favorites.

Redpolls visit our yard each winter and they have a special place in my heart. This painting resulted from hours of watching them feed near the alder in our backyard. Redpolls and Alder received awards at the Creighton Copper Fair and at the Reflections of Nature Wildlife Art Exhibition in Saskatoon.

Sharp-tailed Grouse, Watercolor. Collection of the Artist.

This watercolor received the Best of Show award at the Reflections of Nature Wildlife Art Exhibition in Saskatoon. This bird visited our backyard, feeding on rosehips and flowerheads in our perennial garden. Grouse remind me of the my childhood walks on the farm where they would burst out of the grassy edge of the stubble and take my breath away.
